Sad but true. My world, the streets I walk and drive daily is not at all the one they believe they live in. It’s a statement about the power of brainwashing and how devastating media outlets like Fox and others are. Yes, there is violence, yes, there is crime, but it’s not everywhere. It’s more than likely not even near you unless there is a problem in your home, i.e., domestic violence. There are many homeless where I live, and their numbers grow. This is real. But is there deadly violence? Not really and no more than in the rest of the population. To be sure underemployment is a big issue as housing costs rise. Doesn’t this description sound rather boring? Well, that’s the problem. For the most part reality is boring. Instead of paying attention to reality and dealing with reality, we create excitement, attractive, addictive excitement with stories meant to fill us with fear. It’s magnetic, these stories. We can’t stop ourselves from loving the insanity of it. Our best defense is to verify the stories, each one and report our findings either for or against.
