Yea inside the mothership, those little chinese throwing star thingys all locked on to the plane’s missles, then exploded, and the explosions were trapped inside little sphere shaped forcefields around each plane, which to me looked like a clever plan by the aliens to wipe out all of the film’s new lead stars all at once without leaving a scratch on anything inside of the mothership haha. I mean I was sure they had just killed off every one of the young stars, but then they all were down in the muck hiding a couple scenes later.
