What’s “cruel and stupid” about the truth?
I’m not sure I follow your line of reasoning. Are you supporting “purity” as an unnatural way to approach biological urges? Or, are you accusing me of bigotry for calling out half the world’s population for their “ideal” of the prize that’s unwrapped after the wedding ceremony? Either way, I don’t see my observation as being cruel and stupid.
As to my being a bigot, maybe I am. I support a natural world, one that is not stripping the world of its beauty in search of profit (or is that prophet?).
I support love and art over a need to have everyone be the same and gather weekly to congratulate each other for following the “correct” path.
I support reason over doctrine.
As an aesthete, I find beauty in all life’s stories. If your story has a chapter where you fall from grace, I will offer comfort, even though I may approach the idea of life and its origins differently from you.
Lastly, I read the piece seeking understanding and found only one more example of behavior that puts a choke hold on those coerced to follow the group’s dictates.
So, if my ideas make me a bigot, that’s okay. You continue on your path and I’ll sit under a tree and watch children frolic in the surf. You’re welcome to join me, or not.
