On March 24th, between 1.2 to 2 million people organized in over 800 locations to demand gun reform. Iowa City was one of them.

The protest, which happened despite the blizzard, had hundreds show up to march from Green College Park to Pentacrest. During the demonstration, speakers from all walks of life presented their case for gun control reform.

The main march occurred in DC, led by student survivors from the Parkland, Florida shooting. Seventeen people died.

Like the DC event, the satellite Iowa City march was also organized by students. The club Students Against School Shootings, or SASS, led the event to success — because “Rain, sleet, or snow, the NRA has got to go!”
