Feature Your Art on COSY
Let’s help each other create a beautiful publication.
Aesthetics is an incredibly important aspect of our magazine. In creating the best content possible, we place strict emphasis on attention to detail, and want our readers to find our publication both beautiful and informative.
We are an independent venture, and it is imperative for us to support independent artists as much as we can with our journey. Artists are just as important to us as writers, and we often share the same values of honest creative expression. So we would like to get in touch with more visual artists to collaborate with.
This includes graphic designers, graphic artists, photographers, illustrators, animators, or people simply dabbling in these fields.
Ideally, we would like our articles to harmonise with any visuals we decide to publish, so the submission process for visual artists differs from writing to COSY. In fact, it’s even simpler.
All you have to do is sign up as a COSY artist, and wait for us to contact you about an available opportunity. Effortless!
What happens next?
When we receive written submissions, we refer to our visual artists database, and consider whether any of our COSY artists have be a perfect match for our articles.
If it is, providing you’ve registered as a COSY artist, we’ll email you about which specific artwork we would like to publish, or whether you had anything in mind considering your particular creative style.
In the caption of your featured artwork, you will receive a full citation, a link to the original picture on Instagram, and your profile — whether that be your personal/business website, Instagram account, or Medium profile is entirely up to you.
We will send you a preview link of the article before we decide to publish. If you’re not happy with it, you ultimately hold the discretion to withdraw from the process. Just let us know so we’re not in the dark!
We promote our content on Instagram, so your artwork will be featured (and credited) there.
Does it have to be something I’ve made?
Absolutely. If it’s something you’ve found on the internet, we can’t submit. If it’s someone you know, you may refer them to us, but we are incredibly robust on giving credit where it is due. Any suspicion of plagiarism will result in artwork being taken down, and being banned as COSY member.
Can I be a COSY writer and COSY artist at the same time?
Yes, absolutely! Of course you can feature your own art on your articles, but if you’re interested in us approaching you for some visuals for another writer’s story, then that’s also great. Just email us to let us know you’re interested.
Can I send animations?
We wholeheartedly encourage it! We love that we can make a moving magazine similar to the ones you see in Harry Potter. Please send them in as a GIF. But if you don’t know how to do that, we can turn video files into GIFs for you.
Can I opt out at any time?
Absolutely. Our emails are not automated, so just email us back and we can sort you out.
