Life:
With each day comes new struggles and new hardships that we must face, and somehow conquer. And with those hardships, comes an impending weight that stacks upon our shoulders and makes life feel just so heavy. It becomes hard to get our heads out of the dark clouds that we call our life. But the reality is, we create those clouds and we allow ourselves to be stuck in them. In no way am I saying that we can control the bad things that get thrown our way, but I am saying that we can control how we handle them. We can control how we react to the stresses of life. Everyone has a right to be sad. Everyone has a right to feel like life is just hard sometimes. I’ve been there and it’s totally normal. But that should only last so long. You can’t let yourself become a victim to life. You can’t live in the “whoa is me” mindset. It’s all about perspective. You have to be able to step back in the midst of all the chaos called life and put it all in perspective. Is the boy that your letting ruin your day really gonna matter in 5 years? Is that fact that your grounded for a week and not able to see your friends really worth you saying your life sucks? Not to be cliche, but there are people all around the world who can look at our “struggles” and laugh at the fact that we think they’re so bad. They’re facing poverty and they’re struggling to try and put food on the table for their families. Meanwhile, we’re over here saying “fml” to the fact that a boy screwed us over. And like I said before, you have a right to be sad about those things in your life. But you also must be able to realize how minuscule those problems are and move on. I want you to answer some questions for me. Are you alive? Do you have a roof over your head? A bed to sleep in? Food on your table? Family around you? Friends? An education? If you answered yes to any of those, you’re one lucky human. If you answered yes to all of those, you’re blessed. I promise you if you can take a step back each day and realize how blessed you are, you will be so much happier each and every day.
