Matthew Keys Sentence Response…
This was published on April 13, 2016 as a response to the draconian two year sentencing on Matthew Keys.
(4/13/16) Because I’m so upset with this unfair injustice against our dear friend and journalist Matthew Keys, I’m releasing a small statement about the injustice being committed, on behalf of Tribune Publishing who owns the Los Angeles Times and many Newspapers and TV Stations nationwide.
As you know, social media journalist and content producer Matthew Keys, who was employed by Tribune, Disney/ABC, Reuters and Grasswire has been sentenced to two years in federal prison, for an alleged login credential sharing, that led to a small breach of the Los Angeles Time’s Web Site in 2010.
Currently, Matthew Keys is on supervised release and has been told to surrender to the US Bureau Of Prisons, by June 15, 2016 to begin the draconian two years sentencing process.
Matthew Keys and his legal team has announced that they will intend to appeal this injustice being done.
As I stated before, this act of injustice should come to an end. Right now I decided, to join this fight for Matthew Keys, who I still call a friend since 2009 and I had never believed that the US Government would take advantage of an old Federal Law like the draconian Computer Fraud And Abuse Act (CFAA), that while is meant to prosecute the hackers that breaches a computer without authorization, it also can punish innocent people like Matthew Keys, and the late Aaron Swartz of Reddit fame.
However, that same law can let go the real hackers like informant Hector Monsegur (Sabu) and the alleged LA Times hacker “Sharpie.” Yet, the US Government can let alone big celebrities like comedian Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live (NBC TV) fame, to go on live TV and tell everyone to log in with an HBO GO account revealed during the Emmy Awards Ceremony, on FOX Television, last September 2015.
I don’t have any reason to believe this injustice shall prevail, so that said I had decided to do the following.
First, I will end all support for all the Tribune Publishing and Media properties nationwide. I will un-follow all their properties online, on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc. Also, will stop watching both WGN TV America and Antenna TV. Also will stop following their local newspapers and TV affiliates owned by Tribune.
You can access the list of Tribune owned properties here
Second. I had requested the Courage Foundation to include Matthew Keys in their list of recipients to continue their fight towards the appeals process. You can find out more on the Courage Foundation at the following link:
Third, you are more than welcomed to contribute to the legal defense fund for Matthew Keys available at the following link:

Most importantly, support Matthew Key’s independent Journalism as he continues to produce online content and at the same time to break the news that matters most. Follow him on Twitter:
And finally, we ask that you put an END to the draconian Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), so no more innocent people like Matthew Keys or Aaron Swartz have to deal with the burden of a crime they had NEVER committed.
Thanks for your attention.
