If you collected a piece and you want do destroy it (it could be because it’s a copyminter or an unwanted airdrop) or if you minted a piece and want to change the content or the title/description, you can ‘burn’ it.

Please note that the burn button will not appear if you listed it for sale before the 10th of February update as when you did that, the token left your wallet. To get it back and to be able to burn it, you will need to unlist it.

To unlist, click on “cancel” and confirm in your wallet:

Once unlisted, it will be back in your wallet and you will see that you own 1:

Once you have it in your wallet:

Go to “created”, click on the piece you want to burn, go to the “actions” tab on the page of the piece, select the number of editions you want to burn, and click on “burn token”. Alternatively, you can manually burn it by sending it to tz1burnburnburnburnburnburnburjAYjjX.

When you burn a piece, it doesn’t change the numbering of your objkts. So if you burned the piece which was #3 in your collection, that doesn’t mean that #4 will now be #3, it will remain #4.

No security issue was reported when burning a piece on tezos. If you see a suspicious piece, don’t download the file, burn it instead following the steps above or send it to another wallet.

Please note that it may be possible in the future to hide unwanted airdrops. You can vote and follow the advancement of that feature on objkt roadmap website: https://roadmap.objkt.com/b/feature-request/add-the-ability-to-hide-unwanted-airdrops

Another note: theoretically it is possible to buy all editions of a multiple editions piece and then burn it to make it a 1/1. It is allowed but please be informed that some artists do not necessarily approve that move.
