Here is a strange political reality. The political spectrum from far right to far left is not horizontal. It is circular, with the emotions and tactic of the two extremes having more in common with each other than they do with the moderate center. Both demand political purity, and yet ironically the highest volume of converts, one to the other, of political parties come from their extremes. Hitler new that even with the Commies and Nazis fighting pitched battles in the streets, that the extreme left was some of the best fishing waters from where to expand the party. Ideology always plays second fiddle to the opportunity for emotional intensity and direct action.
