There are many reasons as to why I chose the service learning track. The main reason is to gain valuable experience through connecting with others and accomplishing new things. One way that I will gather information about my experience is that I may jot down events, actions, people, or language that I find interesting or important for my digital story. That way I won’t forget important things from my time volunteering. Another way I could gather information is by simply talking to those in my environment. One can meet many interesting people volunteering and it is important that you can share their story (if they want you to, of course). For context, I plan on volunteering at Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG) where my title is Grassroots Organizer. My initial questions as I begin my research are, what are the duties of a Grassroots Organizer?, how can I impact the surrounding community through my involvement?, and are there possible ways of moving up the chain of command?
