Robin Williams left us too soon, however he did leave us with one final lesson.
Two years ago today the world lost Robin Williams. It was around this time I realized that it was time to start looking for help. It took me weeks before I could say to wife that I needed to talk to someone, and I needed help.
It took a some time after that before I found the help I needed. I am here today, and better for it because of the love and support of my family and the care of fantastic, and caring mental health professionals.
Don’t let the stigma of mental illness stop you from asking for help. The more people who own up to their own struggles lessen the stigma that society has placed on these diseases. If you need help, please talk to someone.
Real talk: There is no magic pill, there is no therapist on the planet who can make all of your issues vanish. However, Life does get better, and little by little you find yourself again. Here’s to everyone on their own journey towards bettering their tomorrows.
