Thanks for writing this! Later versions of Homestead are a little different now on the initial setup, but once you have Homestead installed, the instructions for Craft are basically the same, with the exception of a new location for the Homestead.yaml.

I ran into a few issues installing Craft with Homestead 7.x. PHP 7.2 (the default) doesn’t support mcrypt and MySQL 5.7.5+ changed GROUP BY behavior. Both break Craft CMS. Here is how to solve those issues: http://www.cagrimmett.com/til/2018/04/01/craft-cms-installation-problems.html
