Thanks for this, (in response to the article on coding for girls). I too have been in a Tech field but was such a Nerd I didn’t realize only guys were supposed to do it seriously, till it was too late, and I already liked it too much.

I just wondered why all the worst people seemed to be in my way, instead of just treating me like anyone else. Now much wiser, I would love to share what I know with the girls growing up who want to work in the field.

As a film and television professional, I am particularly interested in teaching Directing to girls, and have written about it already on medium. Its just a skill, not earth shaking just a skill. Anyone can do it. Not everyone wants to, learn, work, try, fail, try, succeed, then try again, but thats another issue.

At least half the people doing it should be women instead of the less than 5% that are allowed to get anywhere near a block buster, except for Frozen. The thing that really needs to be thawed out is peoples brains in this area.

Yes, we are the competition, but if we’re never allowed on the playing field, then the game is never whole, and any win should be considered half a win. There’s a legal case concerning this issue, moving through the courts. The numbers clearly show there is prejudice against women. Thaw baby, thaw.
