May The Force Be With You Always

This one really hurts… As you all know, I’m a huge Star Wars fan. But it wasn’t just a trilogy of films to me, it was my childhood, my adolescence, my adulthood. It’s one of the things that I’ve been able to relate to at any age. Whether it’s knowing what it feels like to have a crush (Luke in earlier years and Han Solo later haha), or facing your fears and overcoming adversity, Star Wars had it all for me. But one of the greatest lessons I learned, I learned from Princess Leia. As a young girl, she taught me what it meant to be a woman; how to be strong; how to be a leader; that’s it’s ok to be vulnerable. And most importantly, she taught me that being a Princess doesn’t mean you need to be saved. Thank you Carrie Fisher for being one of my very first role models.
