Ready to Add Real Value?

Everyone is always saying…how can I help you, what can I do to be of service? But that’s just lip service isn’t it? Be honest. It’s what you’re “supposed to say”. To be truly useful just start doing something. Don’t put the question on the person you’re attempting to help. So what’s the simplest way to add real value to someone else?

Ask to be a mentor.

Novel concept eh? Young people are awkward and unsure of themselves. They’re embarrassed. They want help but have no idea how to ask and feel intrusive when they do. So put your money where your mouth is. You say you want to help people, to add value to their lives…so then stop waiting to be asked. Find a young person (they’re everywhere!) and ask to be their mentor. If they say no, okay who cares? There’s another kid who needs your help. But, chances are they’ll say yes and they’ll be grateful. And what more is life than helping others and creating value?
