Thanks for the shout-out to Way of the Bern, Caitlin! Virtually all of your articles are posted there almost as soon as they go online.
One small correction: Tulsi Gabbard, who put Bernie’s name in nomination at the 2016 convention, is a major favorite at WotB. In fact, most of us are hoping that Tulsi becomes Bernie’s VP or…
It wouldn’t look very good on the Six O’Clock news to say: “these anti-establishment voices are getting too much traction with the public, therefore we’ve decided to crack down on them like they do in China; who we also hate, by the way, because they won’t let us take over the world.”
That’s a bigoted statement on your part. It’s a put down of the Black experience and Black language, especially in the Hip Hop community where-in that slang comes from.

Nailed it. Glad you highlighted Greer and dared to reflect on the value system of past feminism. Earlier feminism in the U.S. maintained an important analysis of power — the use and misuse of it from an intersectional and radical standpoint. Liberal feminism does no such thing seriously. Academic feminism glosses over these important texts today.
Great article! Love your swift and accurate strokes.
I’ve observed in various environmental and social justice organizations (and in plenty of families) that it is the older women who most outwardly and actively defend the patriarchy. The entrenched structure has unconsciously and cleverly learned that it is better to have…
