New Age Transphobia: Asheville Beltane Evolves
Be Scofield

I ended up at this gathering completely by accident. I arrived not ten minutes prior to the ‘sorting of the sexes’ ceremony. I am trans. I found a place with the Weavers and found a sense of community and authentic honesty and vulnerability with the Trans folk leading that group. I left feeling deeply respected and welcomed by a group of 100+ people, none of whom I had ever met before. I respect the struggle that brought about the change, but would like to voice the deep appreciation I have for the Trans folk who stayed and committed to creating and holding that space. My experience there was significant. I am glad I went.
