Poem: Ok, I’m Fat
Ok, I’m fat
Doesn’t mean I’m stupid
Doesn’t mean I’m lazy
Doesn’t mean I’m sick or depressed
Ok, I’m lazy at times
And I’m hazy at times
And down right crazy at times
Who wouldn’t be with all these confines?!
Ok, I don’t exercise
I don’t watch what I eat
Perhaps I don’t care as much
And think cardio obsolete
Does anyone really need to
Run faster than a speeding bullet?
Leap over tall buildings?
Be as powerful as a locomotive?
I don’t think so!
So what’s the point?!
Ok, I’ve gained weight
Doesn’t mean I’m blind
Who do you think had to put on
His tightening pants one leg at a time?!
I think about the world in the shower
Ponder life’s deepest questions in the midnight hour
I dream dreams that are a marvel
And how to realize them, a struggle universal
So I’m fat
You know that at least
But that’s just the tip
The rest is hidden underneath
Buddha said, I can think, I can wait, I can fast
I say, I can think, I can wait, I can eat
Well, two out of three ain’t bad
I am fat, and I’m okay with that
