Do angels still exist today? I’ve had people state to me, “surely an angel was watching over them.” How do we know? I grew up post the Korean War and remember hearing how families were building bomb shelters and public buildings were being designated as “shelters” if we were to come under attack, because of the Cold War between Russia and the U.S. I even vaguely remember going through a bomb drill in my 1st grade class room. But for me growing up in the middle of nowhere (east central Iowa) actual fear didn’t exist for this reason. I only remember happy days when a walk through a dark livestock barn was really scary. Or if outside at night a lone call of a lost dog was the thing that sent chills up my spin. Evening television played; Leave it to Beaver and the tune to My Three Sons caught my attention. These may have been simple, but it was good and wholesome. I guess what I’m saying is, are the Angels I believe in, still on call today to protect the youth from the ugliness we all see on TV and read about in the papers? I certainly hope so.
