Drowning In Life
Have you ever felt that subtle sense,
That icy foreign chill,
If drowning while you're living life,
Of falling while you're standing still,
You drown yourself in many things,
So many things to fill your time,
You try to run away from real things,
And your life loses its shine,
You avoid what's real and just have fun,
Yet your fun has fled away,
Still you can't find the will to stop,
It can wait for another day,
Day by day your life rolls on,
Rolls on like a herd of stones,
And day by day your heart bleeds out,
As it rots in its house of bones,
Stagnant waters have become the norm,
They're the best that you can find,
Your life is dammed and stoppered up,
Your a tangle that you can't unwind,
You don't hope, cause hope had fled,
Hope has walked on out the door,
Instead you dream of other things,
As you stare up from the floor,
There's not much left in you to feel,
Nothing left but a flesh covered drone,
Others pass and see you wave,
But you're drowning out here all alone,
I'm tired of running from standing up,
I'm so tired from all of this,
My life won't grow till my life is changed,
Won't change till I embrace the trials kiss.
