I Feel Like I’m Drowning

I feel like I'm drowning,
Water pressing from every side,
I'm beaten, I'm battered,
By each surging of the tide,

I struggle to find breath,
A single breath of fresh air,
I hold to my life line,
Wondering if it will tear,

I look all around me,
To everyone I can see,
They all seem to be breathing,
Is anybody drowning but me?

I struggle to wade through,
The sea of pain named life,
Is this how it should be?
Pain as sharp as a knife,

I feel like I'm drowning,
I'm losing hope, giving in,
The demons I most fear,
Are ones down within,

Do I have any hope?
Is there a chance to live free,
Is the life that I long for,
Meant for everyone but me,

If I'm not meant to be free,
Let me die in this place,
I can't live with these demons,
This hell I can't face,

If there's someone to hear me,
If there's anyone at all,
Catch me, I'm drowning,
Please stop this sinking fall.
