The Room Within
Jul 10, 2017 · 1 min read
There is a room within myself,
A room as dark as night,
I dare not go to enter there,
I try with all my might,
I build up walls and tear down stones,
To block the way within,
No one can break there way on through,
No one can enter in,
My scars and hurts are locked within,
Locked within doors of stone,
I fear what happens if I let them out,
I’m human, I’m just flesh and bone,
With all the others I remain upright,
I survive with a facade I put up,
But with one breath you break me down,
Then you leave, with my defences in the dust.
