Thyroid cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form on the thyroid gland, a butterfly-shaped organ in the front of the neck. These cysts are generally harmless and vary in size. While some thyroid cysts go unnoticed and cause no symptoms, others can cause pain or interfere with thyroid function.
