This list is somewhat in a particular order, but I love all the movies equally. I could watch some repeatedly more than others.

10. Just Wright

Queen Latifah plays a physical therapist who wins the heart of a NBA All-Star played by Common.

9. Something New

In honor of my bestie, Something New is a romance movie that shows the confused Sanaa Lathan accidentally falling in love with a white man. It brings up the topic of interracial dating and the stigma behind it.

8. The Wood

The Wood shows the beauty of friendship as three best friends prepare for Roland’s (the best friend) wedding. The movie reflects on all the ups and downs that the friends have had together, bringing it all together for Roland’s big day.

7. Think Like A Man

With an All-Star cast, Think Like A Man featured the book by Steve Harvey. It showed how 5 relationships can be manipulated by just one book. As the men get hold of the book, the challenge begins.

7. Poetic Justice

As in inspiration for a song by Kendrick Lamar, Poetic Justice is a very popular movie. It features the famous Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson. Marketed as a “Street Romance”, this film is enjoyable to those whom admire a romance that’s real.

5. Best Man Holiday

As we reach the top 5, no list would be complete without the Best Man movies. Best Man Holiday showed these best friend’s reunited after all of the drama in the first film. It is a perfect holiday film to watch with all of your friends.

4. The Best Man

The Best Man begun the movie series as a beautiful movie between best friends and their families. As loyalty is questioned and lines are crossed, their friendships are put on hold.

3. Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar is a movie where two best friends fall in love. As a hopeless romantic, this movie gave me so many feels. The movie showed the two best friends coming together to unite with their one true love, music.

2. Love Jones

Words cannot describe how much I love this movie. Love Jones showcased love through poems of honesty. It was brutally honest and did not hold anything back. Nia Long and Larenz Tate beautifully depicted that honest love can have some flaws.

And the top movie on the list…

  1. Love & Basketball

Love and Basketball is a great movie for those who love a great high school romance. The basketball aspect of the movie is very enjoyable and action packed. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering the next step in their relationship.
