Cosmic Communication: Welcome To Virgo Season

Welcome to Virgo season

August 23rd- September 22nd
Virgo is symbolized by the virgin — purity of appearance and perfectionism of the soul. Being one of four mutable and four earth signs, Virgos can stand for “natural, steady beings that are known for absolute order, bearing supreme emotional strength — with fears of seeming weak and helpless — he/she doesn’t judge, but observes”. Virgos are most definitely the “unsung heroes” of the zodiac. As we enter Virgo season the themes that present themselves are work, health, service, organization, and attention to the details of life.
If you know and love a Virgo you will know of their incredible sense of duty. For our Virgo brothers and sisters the sacred act of commitment stands for both professional and personal matters. Whether at home or at work, Virgos are forever organizing and planning ahead. They just can’t help themselves!
Without trying to sound too clichéd in a zodiac sense, perfectionism is the calling card of our immaculate Virgo friends. I know I must drive some of my Virgo friends insane with my inability — and lack of desire — of paying attention to the details. My casual disregard for the “proper” use of punctuation and randomized structure of the English language must drive some of you folks insane.
So, please, forgive the rest of us who don’t reach your incredibly high standards.
We are all, however, indebted to your high standards of service. Without your skills and fine eye for detail, the world would literally fall apart. If you need a job doing and a job doing well, Virgo is the way to go. As famed astrologer Suzanne White remarks; “The Virgo is clear-thinking and almost never misses the mark”. It’s just as well that my tattoo artist is a full-blown Virgo’naut. You see, it doesn’t matter what profession our Virgo friends are in — be it administrator, lawyer, health inspector, barber, gym instructor, nurse, social worker, teacher, etc., — they always strive for perfection and a job well done.
One striking quality of most Virgos is their “air of assurance” and citizenry. Even if our Virgo friends or family members are bubbling with anxiety and trepidation within, it is rare they will let “emotional irrationality” air in public. At home with the ones they love? — Oh, of course. In front of strangers? — Not a chance.
Like with all sun signs there are “shadow characteristics” that blight Virgos esteemed reputation. Excessive negativism can engulf our unsung heroes. Being so disciplined in the pursuit of perfection, Virgos can often feel inadequate when failing to reach their own high standards, which in turn can lead to mild — and in some cases, severe — depression.
Extending from this negativism, excessive nitpicking can ensue. If your Virgo friend or lover doesn’t feel up to their own standards, you sure as hell aren’t, so get ready for some sarcastic or blunt remarks in your direction. Tact is not a quality associated with the fastidious Virgo. I have observed a number of Virgo supervisors and their ability to use subtlety and subdue a delicate situation is nearly nonexistent. You will get the facts of the situation and nothing more.
Subjectivity is not a Virgo strong suit.
Furthermore, some Virgos can suffer from a superiority complex. This complex doesn’t manifest itself like a Leo’s ego-centric “out there” superiority (Virgo being far more reserved and reticent)it comes in the form of an internalized “haughtiness”. Because Virgos have a strong sense of duty and what is right, they deplore outlandish behavior that doesn’t fit into their well developed sense of order. I’m not saying Virgos are uppity—most are down to earth — but there can be an ever present arrogance waiting to rear its head.
Quite frankly, it’s usually because they are right!
In love our Virgo family and friends are generally committed to their partners. Contrary to popular belief, “Virgos are not coldhearted or indifferent”. They are loving and even slightly grasping about their love objects” They will have high-standards for their partners to meet, but in return they will show loyalty, commitment and hard work. If you want to make sure your child has all their appointments up to date, all you need is a Virgo.
Virgos make excellent parents who will plan everything to the T. They might be a little fussy and exasperating at times with their nitpicking, but they will love their children wholeheartedly. Virgos need not be anxious or depressed, they’re doing a better job than the rest of us!
The world would not function without Virgos.
The world needs Virgos. Period.
Predictions for the month
As I will mention in every article, sun signs are only a small part of our overall chart that makes us who we are. Not every Virgo will be the same, but most will share some similar characteristics. This month we will be focusing on the themes of service, health and work.
Those born on the cusp and either side of Virgo will likely share characteristics of the earth sign. Those on the August cusp will share Leo traits, being more out going Virgos. Those on the September cusp will see more Libra influence.
With the excesses of Leo season behind us and a strong solar eclipse, we enter this month focusing on the details of life. Did we overspend during outgoing Leo season? Do we need to shore up our accounts? Did we overindulge ourselves?
It’s time we get back to routines and pay attention to the finer details. We get the kids ready for school. We get back to the gym and stick to a schedule with all the pounds we put on over Leo and Cancer season. We start paying attention to our health, buying fresh produce and taking our vitamin supplements.
Virgo season won’t accept sloppiness and laziness this month. Get yourself in order and plan ahead. Not only is it necessary, you’ll feel better for being organized.
Collectively we should be able to make a least some headway. The powerful solar eclipse has shown the shadow side of human endeavor, forcing us to see our shadow selves with our light force completely blocked (if only for a few minutes) The last few years have seen a rise in violence and atrocities committed. Although I still don’t expect things to calm down until 2020, we have at least started to look in the mirror and see the reality of what we’ve become.
Whether what manifests is positive or negative, is up to us.
