That’s true, in the body not all signals need to make it to the brain to be processed, often that’s done locally via the nervous system. But rather than be problematic for the analogy I used, this is actually exactly in line with it. In the Internet of Things, sometimes you want processing done at the edges (called Edge Computing or Fog Computing).
