Cambodian Security Guard Charged With Bribery

A Cambodian security guard is facing criminal charges for helping people escape from quarantine facilities following the deadly COVID-19 outbreak in the capital, Phnom Penh. The accused may face up to one year in prison if found guilty. He was questioned by investigators and may have lied to authorities. However, the prosecutor is pressing ahead and has not identified the other security guard. The investigation will continue until a conviction is reached.

The bribery charge was a result of the third COVID-19 outbreak in Cambodia. The security guard, Ren Sotheara, was tested for the virus but was found to be negative. He was charged with a deliberate act and breach of the law governing disaster management. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to two years. The sentence also involves fines and/or jail terms. But this punishment has not put off many people from applying for a job as a Cambodian security guard.

The government has accused the security guard of bribery. The crime triggered the third COVID-19 outbreak in Cambodia. But the security guard was cleared of the charges. He was found guilty of a deliberate act and a violation of on-site administration. While this case is a purely legal matter, the government’s response has been unconstitutional. In fact, the law has been modified several times since then and the security guard faces more prison time.

The UN Security Coordinator oversees the UN Department of Safety and Security. He consults with the UN Designated Official in Cambodia to determine the level of security needed in the UN buildings. The coordinator also ensures that the security policy and standards are followed. The Cambodian government has a strict law against such crimes and the government is taking steps to ensure compliance. The government has already instituted a special law that will penalize anyone found guilty of a criminal offense.

A Cambodian security guard is accused of bribery after he was caught with COVID-19. Although he has passed the test, he was accused of a deliberate act and a breach of on-site administration. This crime was a violation of Article 42 of the Law on Disaster Management. He was found guilty and convicted of bribery in an attempt to influence public health officials. This criminal offence is not a crime and he is still in prison.
