Tomorrow I will be waking up bright and early to go climbing. I’m really looking forward to it. But waking up before sunrise is hard without getting a good nights sleep. To help me get a more consistent sleep, I will be establishing a nightly scheduled.
I have read plenty of times about how a nightly schedule is helpful for getting a good nights rest. What a routine does is help tell the body when you are ready to sleep. The pattern becomes a message to the body that it’s time to go to bed.
So my routine will be as follows:
- Write on medium
- get dressed in my pj’s
- brush my teeth
- wash my face
- turn off the lights
- get in bed, and set my music timer for 15 minutes
From what I understand, the order is important. It’s not just the things you do, but also the order that tells the brain it’s sleepy time. Here’s to my new efforts!
