However, Hillary Clinton also fired back, stating that Trump uses Chinese steel in his construction projects for his real-estate empire.

Krauthammer described the fleeing Republicans a “flight to the exits”, but said the debate calmed the campaign down to an extent. He stated that the debate could have been used to narrow the gap between him and Hillary, but since the tape was released, the debate’s purpose was to hold the campaign together.
