Liberty University Purchases Fort Hill Shopping Center
Liberty University has purchased Fort Hill Shopping Center for $3 million in an attempt to expand parking for freshman students on campus. Situated close to Sandusky Drive, the lot covers over 20 acres and 154,000 square feet. Liberty plans to use the lot for parking, and potentially other uses as the university continues to grow.
Jonathan Falwell Kicks Off New Year At Liberty Convocation
Jonathan Falwell, the senior pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church, spoke at the first Liberty University convocation of the 2016–2017 school year. He emphasized the importance of starting the semester strong, prioritizing God, and connecting with the local church. Falwell mentioned the wide variety of churches in the Lynchburg area, and for students to find a Bible-believing church they connect with and invest themselves into it.
Liberty University Announces New Clear Bag Policy for Football Games
Liberty University, in an attempt to increase safety for fans and players, has announced a clear bag policy at its home football games. It will be put into effect at the university’s first home game on September 10th vs. Jacksonville. Strict enforcement of the new policy will be in place for the home game vs. Jacksonville State on September 24th.
