OMG it hurts me write Brazil with a “z” !

I’m Brazilian, we write in Portuguese with a “s”, but to help my English speakers to find this article, I’ve decided to write “wrongly”.

Ok let’s cut to the chase, where are some good cafes to work from this huge South America City?

Of course would be impossible to share all the good places, so I’ve chose some that I like to work from in 2 parts of the city. I hope it helps.

Grab your notebook and let’s coffee office in Sao Paulo.

Note: really important note!!! Sao Paulo is an amazing city — and my hometown — but, it’s not the safest city in the planet. Please be super aware of your surroundings and your belongings.

Also: never leave your stuff unattended, and always have your phone with you preferable inside your purse or pocket.

That been said, some places that I go for coffee and work — and feel safe:

Sensory Coffee Roasters

R. Simão Álvares, 781 — Pinheiros

This is a really good coffee place, the food menu it’s limited, but the coffee it’s amazing, the prices are fair, good wi-fi, outlets, usually quiet, feels cozy — it’s in a street house in a normal neighborhood.

Coffee Lab

R. Fradique Coutinho, 1340 — Vila Madalena

Great place to work from, great coffe, great vibe, no food.

The place is super cool and cozy, can get really loud specialy on the weekends, but overall I really liked. It’s NOT the most confotable place to sit for hour with a computer (with a book? yes) but it’s a cool place, and most of people who work there can speak English — random, but really important information.

Selina

R. Aspicuelta, 237/245 — Alto de Pinheiros

If you like trendy and hipster places, well… Selina is a well known co-living chain in Latin America — and some locations in Europe, Africa and Asia — known for provide accommodation, co-working spaces and community.

You can find two of them in Sao Paulo, if you’re not staying in “old downtown” I would recommend the one in Vila Madalena, even if you jus want to go for a coffee and a quick work — you dont’t have to pay to use the co-working area if you’re ok in their cafe.

Really close to them you can find the “Backyard Space”, it’s a mix of: bar, store, co-work, you can also work from there.

BotaniKafe

Alameda Lorena, 1765 — Jardins / R. Padre Garcia Velho, 56 — Pinheiros / Av. Magalhães de Castro, 286 — Butantã / Av. Nicolas Boer, 120 — Barra Funda

This is one of my favoties place to eat and to work from. It’s not cheap, but I think it’s beautiful, and cozy, the food is great, people who work there can speak english, the menu is great, wi-fi works and they have outlets.

Really like this place, I have 2 favorites spots in Sao Paulo, this is one of them for sure.

Santo Grão — And this is the other favorite one.

Multiples Addresses around the city

Usually I go to the one at UNE Building (R. Natingui, 862), but pretty much all of them are good. Good wi-fi, good coffee, good food, good vibes, outlets and good work hours also.

London Coffee Station

Rua Jardim Ivone, 21 — Vila Mariana

If you’re in the south zone of the city, this one is a really good option. good wi-fi, good — and American —food menu, outlets, close to the subway station.

Le Pain Quotidien Brasil

Multiples Addresses around the city

Another world famous chain of cafe / restaurant that you can find in Sao Paulo and work from. For me it’s a little loud and expensive, but, pretty reliable. And for been an international chain you kinda know what to expect, even if you never been to Brazil before.

Sterna Café

Multiples Addresses around the city

It’s a chain coffee place, usually good to work from, outlets, good wi-fi, good menu. For me it’s ok. Don’t expect to be amazing and super cozy, but it works really well, and you can find it in several regions in the city — and even around the country.

Sofá Café

Alameda Vicente Pinzon, 54 — Vila Olímpia

It’s another chain of coffee place, also good to work from, outlets, good wi-fi, good menu. For me it’s ok. Don’t expect to be amazing and super cozy, but it works really well, and you can find it in a few regions in the city.

Parque Ibirapuera — São Paulo

I hope you have an amazing time in my city, and if I can help with any tips, just let me know.
