5 Remote Job Boards — Work Anywhere in the World!

If you do a quick search on Google, you’ll find that many work from home positions tend to cater to US residents — which is great for those in the US, but sucks for those (like me) who aren’t.

Unfortunately, many countries are slow-moving on the work from home front and are pushing for back-to-office. However, it is still possible to work from home, even as a non-US resident.

As someone who had worked from home outside of the US for over 7 years, I wanted to share the job boards I frequented to find remote remote opportunities.

The 5 platforms below are free to use, list plenty of non-tech jobs, and may not even require you to sign up:

Dynamite Jobs was my most-used remote job board, and was also where I found my last full-time position.

What I love about this platform is how unique many of the job postings are — I tend to find positions on here that I haven’t seen on other remote job boards (or, they appear here first). If you’re looking for a position outside of the tech sector, there are plenty other jobs available on the site as well.

Although all of the jobs are remote (or are supposed to be), you can filter your search by job category, skill, monthly salary, type (full-time, part-time, contract), and location (which can be immensely helpful if you’re outside of the US, or outside of North America).

However, one thing to keep an eye out for is whether the job listing is completely remote. Previously, this job board board listed roles that were completely remote. But in recent years, I’ve noticed that some listings were for hybrid or on-site jobs.

Career Vault is another job board that allows you to search for jobs that are completely remote, which can definitely help you start (or continue) your work-from-home journey. You can find listings from popular companies such as WordPress, Springboard, and Automattic on this site.

As with Dynamite Jobs, this site isn’t limited to tech positions. They have categories dedicated to those looking for positions outside of the tech field, such as Marketing, Support, HR, and Writing.

Although you can sign up for the site, you can simply peruse listings by scrolling down to the bottom of the page, and selecting your relevant field under Categories.

Now, if you’re interested in finding remote positions that don’t require US residency, you need to do a few things:

  1. Select your desired job category (job field)
  2. Click More Filters beside the Search button
  3. Toggle on Hide US Only Jobs

Jobspresso.co is another popular job board for finding jobs that allow you to work from home, even if you’re outside of the US. Since the job postings on this platform are handpicked and curated, you can trust that the jobs listed are legitimate.

Once you click the Browse Jobs button, you can search for jobs using various keywords, or deselect the job categories you’re not interested in.

If you’re outside of the US, try searching Worldwide, North America, South America, or Europe as the location.

WeWorkRemotely is the most popular remote job board, and is the largest remote work community in the world! Popular companies such as Google, Amazon, and GitHub post their listings on this site. As the largest remote work community, it’s fitting that it has a broader range of job categories to choose from.

As with other job boards, you can search for jobs by category, or by clicking the magnifying glass to find jobs within a specific field or location.

This was one of the job boards I frequented regularly. Although I did find that many of the jobs were more catered to US residents, I still found plenty that weren’t.

If you’re outside of the US, you can search for non-US jobs by following these steps:

  1. Click the magnifying glass in the top right corner
  2. Type anything in the search bar, and press the Enter key on your keyboard
  3. You’ll be presented with a list of Advanced Search Filters on the right. Under Region, select your location or Anywhere in the World to view relevant job listings

Remotive.io is another great platform for finding work from home jobs, and has plenty of tech and non-tech positions. Although this site isn’t updated as frequently as some other boards, many of the jobs listed here are unique as well. Some very popular companies, such as Shopify, Zapier, and Stripe post listings here.

You can search for roles via the search bar, or you can click to search through their job categories. Alternatively, you can search for jobs by location. Depending on where you are, searching by location may give results of companies that hire in your country or companies that hire globally.

An interesting thing you can try is searching for your timezone in the search bar. I noticed that when I typed in my timezone, Remotive would list corresponding locations underneath the location section.

Although I don’t work anymore (more on that later), I understand that many people may still want (or need) to work. My goal is to encourage you to go after your dreams, even if they differ from mine. For those who desire to work remotely (or find your next remote job), I hope that this helped you get closer to that goal.

For those of you who may want more support, I want to offer you my Ultimate Guide to Getting a Remote Job. The guide includes an abundance of information, including a list of the various types of remote jobs, avoiding scams, legitimate job sites, creating an online presence, resume & interview tips, and a checklist to set you up for success.

Good luck to you on your journey!
