Would You Trade A Vote For A Friendship?

I think the part about politics that is most fascinating is the logistics behind the scene? Who is organizing these events? Who coordinates the candidate schedule? What are they talking about on the plane? How do the Secret Service people get coordinated with? When does anyone sleep or pay bills? Who coordinates the motorcade route?

While I would welcome the chance to work in the White House at a role that can execute a “Behind The Scenes” activity, I can’t bring myself to trade my friendships for a vote. I believe only 2 candidates have the vision to help us but I think if I were to publicly profess my committment, then that could mean the loss of a friendship or two. Perhaps some would allow me to make my own choice, a mistake they might say, but for a chance to work in the White House and contribute to the United States is another dream come true!

For now I watch the Presidential Race from my TV and computer wondering if I were to go “All In” on a candidate could that get my skills noticed enough to earn a spot to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave? Then again, would I trade that for the people that might stop speaking to me. It is an interesting choice. I am not sure what I would do if somebody guaranteed me a White House Position but I might lose a friend. The good news is that from where i sit today, I don’t need to make that choice so the friendships win and probably should always win over the White House
