There’s a first time for everything…
With that in mind, we have a number of upcoming events which are firsts for Campus North! Here’s a bit of a taster for what’s in store.
On Saturday 14th May, from 7pm to 11pm, we are taking part in The Late Shows in partnership with Bunker Coffee & Kitchen for the very first time!
Described as “The North East’s late night culture crawl” a number of venues across Newcastle and Gateshead will open their doors to the public, offering a host of events, exhibitions and performances.
You can expect an ARTisan extravaganza in Bunker with live sign writing by Ash Willerton, illustrations by Tom Boyle and music by Six Sunsets. In case that’s not enough, grab yourself a cuppa after the live brew demonstrations, maybe a sweet treat or a nibbly bit and peruse the prints that will be on display by Dirty Hands Co. and 96 Editions.
Looking for something more digital and tech focused from the night? Head through the double doors in to our Auditorium.
Our education arm, Tech For Life have an army of friends coming along to inspire the whole family! You’ll have a chance to create and play with lego robots thanks to Success 4 All.
NE1 for Learning will inspire all generations with their BBC micro:bit demonstrations while Everything is My Design will be responsible for the animations playing on the big screen.
You might not find as many sweet treats in the Auditorium, but there will be plenty of Raspberry Pi chat! Have you bought one for the kids but you’re not quite sure where to start? Come and have a chat with Phil Jeffes! He’ll point you in the right direction.
That’s not all we have in store for May…
For the first time ever since its creation in 2012, MeasureCamp will be making its debut in Newcastle on Saturday 21st May!
MeasureCamp is a free to attend unconference. With the focus being of web analytics, it’s the perfect opportunity for like minded folk to mingle and discuss the things they find most interesting.
With over 100 people already registered, MeasureCamp will be taking over the whole downstairs of Campus North. You can expect copious supplies of tea, coffee, breakfast and lunch provided by Bunker Coffee & Kitchen, and who knows, maybe even a few beers!
Most of all, there will no doubt be a buzz in Campus! We think it’s the perfect fit and we are chuffed that they've chosen us as a venue. If you want to find out more check out their website or twitter page.
