I kinda get fired up actually when you mention “cognitive load” when the text fades away, while the screenshots of the open apps are flowing across the screen. So when the 70% of the screen changes, the faded text adds to the cognitive load is so minimal that it is negligible.
The main reason behind our disagreement is that you are micro inspecting the interaction(ofc, this was the main focus of your article :) , while I analyze from a broader perspective.
As I told you I am not an interaction designer, yet I’m very intrigued about human brain and perception. I couldn’t imagine your redesign proposal, but I would like to asses if you could share the final output.
I have really liked the concept of analyzing the interactions under the microscope, that is why I am too invested on the article :)
