Curriculum Changes

“Better educated persons” is the goal of new graduation requirements imposed on A University this comming fall semester.

Students entering University have higher hurdles to jump this fall with the implementation of three additional general education courses to their graduation checklists. A recent study showed that only 15 percent of students in universities study a foreign language and 20 percent take a math course. University President David French announced these changes that would add his university’s student body to these statistics, an effort that aims to ensure a better education for future graduates.


Daughter of local attorney arrested for driving under the influence.

Twenty-two-year-old Cathy Benson, known to her town as this year’s homecoming queen and the daughter of well-known attorney Jim Benson, was caught intoxicated behind the wheel for the third time in six months. A cheerleader and straight-A college senior, Cathy was scheduled to attend Vanderbilt University for graduate school before the incident.
