OPENNESS

The images from Acne Studio’s SS17 Campaign, transported me back to a more tolerant time. They look like beautifully kept vintage images that somehow survived the test of time to tell a story. Shot by Paolo Roversi, the campaign features artists and creatives with Iranian, Iraqi and Kuwaiti backgrounds.

“This collection is about openness, and looking out into the world.” Acne Studios’ creative director Jonny Johansson explained to Dazed.

The images are also relevant to the political climate we live in today, especially with President Trump’s hostility to immigrants and refugees. Mr. Roversi’s shots are hauntingly beautiful. But most of all, they give hope that one day, everyone will see how similar we all are.

Not a lot of hope, just enough.
