The Bosphorus turns turquoise
If you live in Istanbul, you may have noticed that large areas of the Bosphorus recently turned from their original deep blue color into turquoise.
The reason for this is the large quantities of phytoplankton, a form of marine algae, that emerge in the water at this time of the year.
