I feel like that’s only a major issue if they’re trying to win over 40+ year olds to watching…

I’m in my 20’s and I feel that the use of memes and crude jokes about dicks that constantly occur on the panel is unprofessional at best. It’s not about how it is plenty popular right now and will grow, It’s about how it is currently limiting how much/fast it can grow by catering to those it already has a firm grip on instead of looking to expand. Yeah, the casters can curse make dick jokes and be unprofessional on Twitch streams… but good luck being on a legit network consistently with that.

This is the exact reason that 2GD got kicked in Shanghai. well… aside from being “an ass”. haha

furthermore, it’s also a matter of picking up a general audience. Not everyone wants to watch the games/get into Dota knows or even uses twitch and for those people, who are used to the way sports are cast in the real world, it is a huge turnoff.

So no, it’s not like an office that never does face to face. It’s like an office that has an open door policy and wants new clients and therefore SHOULD try to look nice and follow the norm of how prospective clients expect an office to run/look because those clients could walk in at any time. Especially how in this case, the constant crude humor/twitch meme-ing takes a lot of time away from actual analysis and explaining that could be done to help viewers follow/understand what is going on.

I’m not saying get rid of all the casual memes and joke all together and enforce a strict no-jokes policy or anything. I’m just saying that some people, e.g. redeye and flax, have been trying way too hard to force meme usage and make dick jokes. Blitz and Cap use memes all the time but they always quickly turn the conversation back to analysis and actual commentary which is perfectly fine. Another example is how Blitz, realizing this, has VASTLY improved his wardrobe to be more professional and carry himself in a way that is more in line with actual casters, compared to when he first started off.
