This article is about a poem.
A poem about a person’s messed up day, whose life is nothing short of miserable. He is giving it all he can, but his fate has different plans. He knows his day is near and that’s what pushes him.
The poem excerpts his resilience against the situation and tells how he reaches where he wants to, setting aside every obstacle.

Date with Fate

So here’s how it goes:

Got late to the bed, with those wet creepy eyes,
Windy thoughts all over, filled with gleamy goodbyes,
Falling drops on the phone, despite clear skies,
Left home with a bag, trading dreams with lies.

Phone battery went zero and they cut off the power,
Still asleep, the clock showing 9 on the hour,
No sugar in the box, no coffee in the drawer,
Forgot to fill the tank, so left without a shower.

Wore a dusty white shirt with a wrinkled black suit,
Went for tea outside and it fell on the boot,
Rushed to sit on the bus, was left standing on foot,
Flies coming out of wallet, empty pocket in cahoot.

Running for, like life, reached half an hour late,
Some words with the guard, standing at the gate,
He has shrouded his head, you can kill your wait,
It’s impossible to stop him, coz he has a date with fate.

No one can stop him, because today he has a date with his fate.
