Having a passion for exploring new places, I went to South Goa at the end of last year

No doubt that South Goa is an underrated place compared to its counterpart North Goa. Both of them have Scenic beaches, amazing food, Nightlife, and ancient heritage. It’s a great destination all around. Although visiting South Goa is quite a special experience.

Here are 5 reasons why you should visit South Goa at least once in your lifetime.

1)Clear and tranquil beach to dive in
Away from the noisy beaches in the North, South Goa beaches are known for their quiet nature. Every other beach has got something to offer. For example,
-Betalbatim Beach is so known for its view of the sunset that it is also referred to as Sunset Beach.
-Bogmalo Beach is known for its diving school. They give lessons to both novices and experts.
-Palolem Beach is known for its appearance in Hollywood movies, the beach is home to the lead actor Matt Damon.
So when you visit these beaches, enjoy delicious Goan food alongside them.

2)Sumptuous Goan Food
Unlike having food at fancy restaurants, South Goa has something different to offer. In South Goa, a number of residents have opened a small place beside their house as a restaurant-type side business where you can get a true taste of Goan food.
South Goan food speciality when asked locals apart from seafood is “AndaRassa” which comprises two Omelets mixed with special Chicken Rassa(Gravy) which tastes absolutely delicious, which shacks can not offer.
There is a different luxury in eating local dishes in their own culture.

3)Night Life
South Goa is famous for its nightlife. Some of the places where you can hang out during the night are at the Tito’s, Down the Road, Cocktails & Dreams, Club Cubana, and at Goa Marriott Resort. Select one of these based on your budget and go. The night is still young!
If you are someone who stays away from these havoc, the best option is to get your table aligned to the shores of the beach, grab a cold beer, the infinite beach sound, and the sky full of stars, perfect combination right?

4)Hidden Beach
Explorers are looking for such places, right? There is a hidden beach in South Goa named “Butterfly Beach” or you can call it “Honeymoon beach”, what’s so special about the beach right? As the name suggests, Butterfly beach is the abode of numerous beautiful butterflies. Although what the name doesn’t tell us is that during low tides, when the seashore widens, the beach is littered with crabs and goldfish. Sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and even redfish are common sights here.
Termed Hidden Beach, there is no direct vehicle route to this beach either you have to go through ferries or by road, you can proceed by asking locals, after parking it follows a 2km downside trek to reach the destination.

5)Tour at South Goa
Apart from exotic beaches, South Goa also has Beautiful Waterfalls which are more active during the rainy season. Here are some of them, Tambdi Surla Waterfalls, Dudhsagar Waterfalls, and many more.
Also a number of beautiful and ancient churches.

An additional place you can visit : Three Kings Church, Cabo de Rama Fort, Goa Chitra Museum etc.

All of these things have made Goa not just a place to visit, but an experience to have.
