Tough yet Important Love for Us All

Here is some guidance. We must learn to heal and take control of our lives. Days seem fleeting and we are watching idly, know there is a cure. It is called gratitude and we need to take it seriously, everyday. If you can breathe normally, be grateful. If you can taste food, be grateful. If you can speak, touch, and feel love, be grateful. It doesn’t matter how much you have or don’t have, it doesn’t matter where you live, and it certainly doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of you. All that matters is that you are willing to change and that means you no longer have to be the person you were yesterday. Forget the past; it doesn’t define us unless we let it. Be grateful time moves forward. We can grow.

It may have taken years to get to this reflective point, that is completely okay. However, now is the time for action. Learning to accept this is going to take work, and it will require work on a daily basis. Only you know what has happened to you up to this point, and it is up to only you to transform. This means creating a new ethic and that is probably one of the hardest things anyone can go through. Again, be thankful even for just reading this far and taking some of these words into consideration for yourself. Moving on.

To start, figure out what it is needed that grants you peace, motivation, and strength. I highly encourage you to write each one down and make a list of things that contribute to those aspects of your life. For inner peace, we need a clear head and intentional living. That includes gratitude, meditation, the right diet, constructive reading, and intentional writing. For motivation, it depends on purpose. That includes most importantly giving love, supporting good causes, joy, and helping others. For strength, it requires rigorous exercise, confidence, and having a greater purpose other than money. Break those down even further if needed and consciously have those guide your decisions from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed. If you have a place to sleep tonight, that is something to be immensely grateful for.

Pain that has lasted a long time usually does not go away from a catalyst but from a long healing process. This process will not be easy. It takes being vulnerable and facing our demons which is something not many of us are willing to do. Trust me when I say it is so worth it and to change ourselves, it must be done. More practice will make us stronger and the best foundation for these first steps is having gratitude.

All of this takes serious intention and is a long process, though the healing rewards are tremendous and life changing. These benefits will compound and the coming harvest will snowball as we continue to work on ourselves. Please remember this is also not a destination. This is a lifestyle and we are always either stagnant or a work in progress. If we truly no longer want to be weak, we must choose the latter. The choice is ours and the solutions we seek are ours to grab. Stay humble, stay hungry, and appreciate everyday like you won the lottery because you already have. The proof is that you were granted this life by the universe. Hold on to it dearly, persevere, and make the most of it no matter the circumstances.
