I feel dirty for clicking on this story.

Seriously though, I thought in order for your click to mean anything to Medium you needed to recommend the story. No recommendation means no approval, which doesn’t help a story. I’d like to think that in a perfect world a story with a lot of clicks but few recommends gets seriously downgraded.
