Where did she go?

“She could be right here, right now, and I can’t see her anymore. I can’t talk to her. She is gone.” Tillman sobbed and gulped down another glass. Frank felt sorry for him; he knew what Juli was up to from the get-go. From the first time he laid eyes on poor Tillman, he knew Juli would eventually ghost him. And that’s exactly what she did yesterday.

She was addicted to those first stages of relationships, right up to the point when the guy fell in love with her. Then, she’d become disgusted by that warm human feeling of attachment. It was a guttural reaction, she once told Frank. She needed to leave immediately and permanently whenever she felt it. However it happened, whether it was a ring, maybe the three magical words, even just a bouquet or some chocolates, at this point, Juli ended things in the most cowardly way possible.

Ghosting, blocking, death.

Whenever you blocked someone like that, they couldn't see you even if you were in the same metaverse as they were. You could be in the same sim-room, at the same time, and you wouldn’t be able to see them. They could be right before you, and you would never know. You couldn't send them a message or call them. You couldn’t even see them in the memories you saved in your drive. It was as if they were gone or had never been there at all. They disappeared forever. Deleted. Censored.
