Lying is the new MBA, and it’s paying off

When a lie is told from a good place, is it still a lie? Well that depends on who you ask.

Lying is a deeply human experience. No one alive can say they’ve never lied. Well, they could but that would be a lie. We lie with our words, our minds, our behaviours, and our body language. We lie to ourselves, and to others.

Why? Because we rationalise.

When a person is lying on a job application, they’re not doing so from a place of deception. They believe they’re behaving in the best interest of all parties. They truly believe they can do the job for the potential employer, and do it well. And, they truly believe landing the potential opportunity is in the best interest of themselves, personally. Win/win.

Is that still a lie?
