Attract the Right Type of Customer

Knowing the best ways to attract the right type of online customer in an increasingly flooded digital landscape can be tricky. Every brand is trying to stand out and be different — in exactly the same way, especially when it comes to content.

On the one hand, it’s easier than ever to publish blogs, v-blogs, podcasts, articles, or videos; and the flip-side everyone is publishing content that’s all reading the same.

More importantly potential customers have BS detectors that are super alert. They can tell an imposter a kilometre away. What’s more, your potential strategic business-to-business (B2B) partners are infinitely connected to information about your brand, thanks to it’s digital footprint and your competitors, which makes them even more discerning. …

The internet is massive and when you search on Google, there are millions of web pages of helpful information.

Google figures out which results to show you by organising the information in our Search index. The search index is like a library, and contains more information than all the libraries in the world combined.

Google uses software known as ‘web crawlers’ to discover web pages. These Crawlers look at each web page and also follows links on those pages. They go from link to link, and bring data about those web pages back to Google’s servers.

In less than a fraction of a second, Google’s search algorithms sort through hundreds of billions of web pages in the Search index, to find the most relevant, useful results for what you are looking for. …

Each week a client is proud to say they know how to sell their products to new customers. Admittedly they are the best at verbally selling, but when it comes to them writing about products and services — it’s often a huge FAIL. Why? Because talking about products and services is completely different to writing about it. My response to them is:

“Great. Go be brilliant at talking about your products and services locally, but allow a professional #copywriter help you tell the world about it.”

Copywriters wrestle with words for a living. We’re good at keeping content clear, concise and some are excellent at alliteration. Most people believe they can write, because everyone does it everyday. But this is the wrong attitude. After all, you wouldn’t go to the doctor for a tooth ache. …

BOOK GUIDE #1: for Emotional Intelligence

Ever since I was six years old, I’ve loved reading books. It’s the smell of the paper when I first open a book that reminds me of sitting in a library reading as a child. My Grandma used to sit me in the corner of the children’s section whilst she searched for the perfect novel to borrow. It’s also the excitement of reading well-written phrases that an author has taken hours to write. It’s a craft and I’m in awe of authors who can first sit and write for the senses.

On the flip side, reading an eBook doesn’t quite have the same satisfaction. Call me ‘old fashioned’ — certainly not old, but I can still appreciate the style and tone. Even when I don’t particularly like the story — it still helps to educate the mind and broaden the horizon. …

Get over your woman’s “selfitis disorder” and bring her back to reality

It’s Valentines Day and I’m sitting in a well known Sydney restaurant eating lunch with a ruggedly handsome bachelor, Michael. He stops mid-sentence to watch two women giggling as they take selfies. They stand half-way down the restaurant overshadowing a young couple’s table, trying to take the perfect selfie. It’s like a scene out of a bad movie, where they’re acting as teenagers who are trying to get as much attention as possible. And yes it’s working.

When they finally finish, they both smile in the direction of Michael, who rolls his eyes and asks me,

“When did women become so f*cking self-centred?” …

Why I Quit Sugar!

Refined sugar has absolutely no health benefits at all. In fact if you add refined sugar to your diet, it has all the health risks you can think of. First of all it contributes to heart disease, it’s bad for your teeth, it’s high in fructose which can overload and cause damage to your liver, it may cause insulin resistance which is only a few steps away from diabetes, and is well known to give you cancer. Refined sugar also causes massive dopamine release in the brain which is highly additive and more powerful than an addiction to cocaine.

Five years ago I quit sugar for health reasons. But before I understood about my sugar intake I used to eat: two pieces of fruit a day, a handful of dried fruit in my porridge or cereal, a teaspoon of honey in my tea, a (45g) bar of chocolate after lunch and a dessert if I was out for dinner. …

When a person asks you out and you’re just not feeling the vibe, you don’t have to agree to go. Even if you’ve been single a while. It’s perfectly normal to wait for the right person, or at least one that has similar values.

With all the Apps and internet sites available, there seems to be this preconceived idea that being single means you’re either desperate or you are looking. I’m here to tell you, this is completely wrong.

If you’re anything like me, you are content being single. It’s a good time to enjoy your space….

Leverage Limitations and Step Up to Success

This is definitely the year to shake things up. We’ve experienced the inauguration of President Donald Trump, a businessman and television personality with no political experience. Last year we witnessed an alarming election cycle, horrifying acts of senseless violence, and millions of homeless refugees in Europe. 2017 is the year where millions of men and women have decided to take action and fight for their rights.

Many people wait for things to happen or let others take action to create change. Do you justify your beliefs by saying either:

“If I work really hard now, then one day soon I can take time off for an overseas trip.” …

They weren’t a couple but together, they drove the message home

As a child, I never understood what role a ‘Dad’ was meant to take. I lost both of my Dads pretty early in life. It wasn’t from death or anything drastic. It was merely because each one left and never returned. I can’t say I know either of them very well. The memories of each one are far and few between.

What I do remember is that my birth Dad left when I was eighteen months old. When he returned it was awkward. Saying “hello” on my birthday, where he would exchange gifts for a kiss. I don’t remember having a real conversation with him or know anything about him. In the eyes of a small child, he was a very tall, dark man with big brown eyes who arrived with his arms full of presents. …

When you date a game changer, you’ll know because he or she will rock your world. It’s fun and slightly uncomfortable all at once. It may even feel like everything is upside down.

A game changer laughs at your jokes. Looks incredible dressed up or in a simple t-shirt and jeans. They’re intelligent, fun and the bedroom antics are fantastic. A game changer is direct and definitely a wonderful communicator.

For first-timers who date a game changer, it may feel slightly confronting being with someone who is completely honest and upfront.

Here are 7 insights on their personality traits:

  • A game changer is honest: they make you feel comfortable by being direct and are not into game playing. They share their past with you and aren’t afraid to show their fears, doubts, and insecurities. Plus they are confident and straightforward. They crave a partner who adores both their weaknesses and strengths. …
