Located in the Stann Creek district, the Cockscomb Basin is a protected area totaling 250,000 acres. This area of tropical forest which became one of the world’s first jaguar sanctuaries in 1984. The bio-diversity and wildlife found incredible. If you are into the great outdoors, be sure to visit the reserve. Spend the day exploring nature trails, waterfalls, go birding. You can be lucky enough to spot jaguars or another different wild cat such as the jaguarundi, puma, ocelot, and margay.
