AR and QR codes have shown to be quite helpful in a variety of situations. When it comes to quickly accessing information, such as product specifications, contact data, or websites, QR codes are effective. In marketing, ticketing, and instructional materials, they are frequently utilized. On the contrary, augmented reality (AR) improves experiences in the actual world by superimposing digital data on it using gadgets like smartphones or AR glasses.

Known as QR-AR, the fusion of AR with QR codes can produce immersive and interactive experiences. For instance, scanning a QR code could cause an augmented reality app to open, displaying a 3D model or more details about the scanned object.

As for my prior knowledge of QR-AR, I have no clue what QR-AR was and I have never used it in my life. I’ve only used normal QR codes in my life that takes me to a certain link that’s in the code.

Applications for jobs can benefit from the innovative implementation of QR-AR. By presenting your abilities and personality in a more captivating way, a QR-AR code that connects to an online portfolio or welcome video on your CV can help you stand out from the competition. It gives your program a multimedia component, which is particularly useful in creative industries.

QR-AR technology can be applied to education in a collegiate context. Instructors may use QR codes to link to additional resources or interactive information within their textbooks. Students could conduct virtual experiments or explore historical sites using augmented reality apps.

Even though technology presents many new opportunities, it is crucial to take everyone’s ease of use and accessibility into account. Not everyone may be familiar with AR technology or have access to devices with it.

I was drawn to chapter 6. I was drawn to chapter 6 because the title seemed interesting. The title of chapter 6 was Engage and Excite: Motivating Students With Tech-Friendly Tasks”. This title interested me because I’m currently a student right now and I use a lot of technology right now for school. I find it important that students like myself and others are motivated in their schooling through technology. It’s important in today’s society that students are engaged and motivated in school, especially through technology. It’s important that we use engaging applications to make learning worthwhile and fun.

The chapter focuses on using augmented reality (AR) and QR codes — two types of scannable technology — as methods to encourage and involve students in the learning process. It highlights how crucial it is to make links to the outside world, use technology as a hook to draw students in at the start of classes, and link scannable technology use to specific learning goals. Examples of how these tools can be used in a variety of areas are given in the text, including writing assignments, college and career preparation, and elementary school classrooms. Additionally, it addresses how to balance augmented reality with QR codes, advising teachers to select the appropriate resource for each set of learning objectives.

The chapter emphasizes how standard learning experiences can be changed into engaging, dynamic activities by utilizing scannable technology. The emphasis on involvement, real-world linkages, and engagement is in line with modern educational practices that try to accommodate a variety of learning preferences. Examples of how to use AR in writing prompts and QR codes in scavenger hunts are included to demonstrate how versatile these technologies are for use in a variety of disciplines and grade levels. It is essential to place a strong emphasis on connecting technology use to learning objectives since this guarantees that the use of scannable technology is intentional and in line with academic aims. Furthermore, the recognition of the necessity for a balance between augmented reality and QR codes shows a considered approach, understanding that the selection of technology should support rather than overpower learning. The chapter appears to support a pedagogical strategy that uses technology to enhance the educational process, spark students’ interests, and get them ready for the technological demands of the workforce of the future.
