It is the Ghandi approach. The MLKjr approach… the ‘new’ in ALL animal interactions, always has the burden to maintain strength and patience, to steer the blind into seeing the light. NOT through verbal direct attempts to convince, but through creating experiences and environments that enable persons to come to actually feel and see things differently, to surprise themselves with those feelings, and therefore evolve themselves. 
You criticize the approach, but you offer no alternatives, because there really aren’t other ways. Just variations on this basic principal of natural animal and human dynamics.
Research has proven that narrow minds only broaden and grow through personal experiences.
