This Week in PM : Project Management Career Path

This week’s in project management will focus on project management’s career levels. To many outside of the industry, project management are two of the hottest buzz words. The PMP certification is one of the hottest in the field. The average PMP is earning over 6-figures which is one of the reasons for everyone wanting to pass the certification exam. I have documented my 3 ½ year journey to obtaining my PMP on my Blogtalkradio show. You can listen here:

I have found a project management career path article written by PMChat.Net using the Association for Project Management data. The APM data outlines the career trajectory from entry-level project assistant to senior management consultant. This article details project management at every career level. This is a good read because it offers realistic career levels and expectations that some project management training programs want to skirt. Project management is more than just paying up to $2500 for a 4-day PMP bootcamp to do a brain dump for the exam. It is an occupation with high ethics and competent practitioners.
